How do you get ZZZ Polychrome? Yet another Hoyoverse anime game is here, and like Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail before it, Zenless Zone Zero has a random gacha mechanic for unlocking characters. With it, ZZZ introduces a form of in-game currency called Polychrome that can be used to collect characters, weapons, and other valuable items.

Zenless Zone Zero Polychrome is a premium currency that can then be converted into Master Tape. Master Tape is used in ZZZ banners on the Stable Channel to unlock new ZZZ weapons characters. You need plenty of Zenless Zone Zero Polychrome to get the best Zenless Zone Zero characters, so here’s how to farm more for free.

How to farm ZZZ Polychrome

The best ways of obtaining Zenless Zone Zero Polychrome are:

  • Achievements
  • Raising your Inter-Knot level
  • Proxy Primer
  • Commissions
  • Events
  • Howl’s News Stand

Achievements

The list of in-game Zenless Zone Zero achievements can be found from the main menu, and every single one rewards you with Polychrome. Rewards vary from five Polychrome up to 20 for some of the harder challenges, but there are hundreds to collect overall.

Raising your Inter-Knot level

Each time you reach a new Inter-Knot level, you receive a bunch of rewards, increasing in value both as you get reach higher levels and when you achieve certain milestones. 200 Polychrome can be earned at levels 3, 13, 23, 33, 43 and 53 for a total of 1,200 overall.

Proxy Primers

Proxy Primers are even more challenges that reward Polychrome, and they can be accessed from the ‘Compendium’ section of the main menu. Each Primer contains set challenges, such as reaching a specific Inter-Knot level, leveling up an Agent, or even just playing a game at the Arcade. You must reach a certain Proxy Primer level to unlock specific ZZZ events, but it’s worth your time to complete them for the rewards alone. Individual challenges award the likes of Dennies and XP, while completing each full Proxy Primer awards Polychrome, W-Engines, and Master Tapes.

Commissions

Most Commissions award Polychrome, so you can earn plenty by simply working through the story. Bonus Polychrome is also rewarded for completing mini-quests or targets within Commissions, such as beating them within a time-limit. Be sure to complete side quests as well as story quests as many also award Polychrome.

Events

Zenless Zone Zero events change all the time, and you can see what’s going on from the main menu. Events might include anything from daily login rewards to full-blown story expansions, but you’ll find that most award Polychrome among other useful items and currencies.
