Key Changes and New Services for 2025

In line with its modernisation drive, Indian Railways is introducing several major changes in 2025, such as the launch of the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (Vande Metro), Amrit Bharat Express trains, and a significant expansion of its fleet with 136 Vande Bharat Express trains. These upgrades aim to boost passenger comfort, convenience, and efficiency.

The Ministry of Railways has already made notable progress, with the introduction of 70 new services and 64 Vande Bharat trains in 2024, continuing its commitment to transforming the rail network.

New Timetable Process for 2025

Typically, the TAG timetable is released by June 30 each year, with the updated version coming into effect on July 1. However, this year, the release date has been shifted, and the new timetable will take effect on January 1, 2025. This change highlights the ongoing evolution of India’s railway system, as it adapts to increasing demand and technological advancements.
