Pune already has two operational Vande Bharat Express trains — one to Kolhapur and the other to Hubballi.
Now, four more are in the pipeline, bringing the total to six, as per TOI.
Where Will the New Trains Go?
Pune–Shegaon Vande Bharat
This train is a blessing for pilgrims and tourists visiting the Gajanan Maharaj Temple in Shegaon. It’s expected to stop at Daund, Ahmednagar, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Jalna.
Pune–Vadodara Vande Bharat
This route will connect two major commercial cities — Pune and Vadodara — with stops at Lonavala, Panvel, Vapi, and Surat. Journey time may drop from 9 to around 6–7 hours.
Pune–Secunderabad Vande Bharat
Linking two tech and education hubs, this train is likely to halt at Daund, Solapur, and Kalaburagi. It aims to save passengers 2–3 hours of travel.
Pune–Belagavi Vande Bharat
This route will improve access to Karnataka’s emerging industrial hub, Belagavi. Probable stops include Satara, Sangli, and Miraj.
Facilities and Fare
Expect all the standard Vande Bharat features — comfy seats, Wi-Fi, automatic doors, clean toilets, and advanced safety tech. Ticket prices will likely range from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 depending on the route and class.
Sleeper Option Coming Soon
A Pune–Nagpur Sleeper Vande Bharat train is also being planned. Unlike the usual chair car services, this overnight train will offer sleeping berths.
These new routes are expected to increase footfall in religious and business hubs while making travel more efficient.
