Travelling on the Delhi Metro will cost passengers a little extra, as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) recently announced its first fare hike in eight years. The revised fares, effective from August 25, will see an increase of Rs 1 to Rs 4 on most routes, while the Airport Express Line will see a rise of up to Rs 5.

As per the new fare chart, a short journey of up to 2 km will now cost Rs 11, compared to the earlier Rs 10, while the longest ride of over 32 km will cost Rs 64, instead of Rs 60, on regular days. Here’s a look at the revised fares across popular routes and travel slabs.

1. Huda City Centre to Delhi Vishwavidyalaya

The revised Delhi Metro fare for travel between Huda City Centre and Delhi Vishwavidyalaya is now Rs 64 for a single journey. This route, which runs along the Yellow Line and covers a distance of over 32 km, earlier cost Rs 60 but has gone up due to the recent fare hike announced by DMRC. Passengers using smart cards can still save by getting a 10 per cent rebate on fares, along with an additional 10% discount during off peak hours, before 8 AM, between 12 PM to 5 PM and after 9 PM.

2. Huda City Centre to Connaught Place

Huda City Centre to Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk), on the Yellow Line, covers nearly 30 km, placing it in the 21–32 km fare slab, which has been revised from Rs 50 to Rs 54. Passengers using smart cards can continue to benefit from a 10% rebate, along with an extra 10% discount during off-peak hours. On Sundays and national holidays, the fare remains fixed at Rs 54 for this route.

3. Noida City Centre to Connaught Place

The updated Delhi Metro fare for travel from Noida City Centre to Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk) is now Rs 43 for a single journey, which used to be Rs 40. Passengers purchasing return or two-way tickets will pay double the amount unless they are using a smart card, which offers both convenience and savings. Regular smart card users will continue to receive a 10% rebate on fares, along with extra discounts during off peak hours.

4. Dilli Vishwavidyalaya to Connaught Place

Travelling between Dilli Vishwavidyalaya and Connaught Place will now cost Rs 30 for a single journey. The route, part of the Yellow Line, covers 8 stations and falls under the 5–12 km fare slab. The average travel time on this route is 16–19 minutes, making it one of the most convenient connections between North Delhi and the city’s central hub. Passengers using smart cards continue to enjoy a 10% rebate, along with an extra 10% discount during off peak hours.

5. Badarpur Border (Faridabad) to Connaught Place

Passengers commuting from Badarpur Border to Connaught Place (Rajiv Chowk) will now pay Rs 50 for a single journey. The route, which covers nearly 18 stations and average travel time is between 43 and 52 minutes, used to cost Rs 46. Passengers can bring down the fare to Rs 45 by using smart cards to get a 10% rebate. For regular commuters, daily and weekly passes are also available.

6. Delhi Vishwavidyalaya to Sarojini Nagar

From August 25, 2025, the updated Delhi Metro fare for travel between Dilli Vishwavidyalaya and Sarojini Nagar market is Rs 40 for a single journey, which was Rs 38 earlier. Although the revised fare slab for 12–21 km travel is generally set at Rs 43, the official station to station fare chart lists Rs 40 for this specific route.

7. Huda City Centre to AIIMS

The fare for the Huda City Centre to AIIMS route, which goes on for 21.1 km on the Yellow Line, has gone up from Rs 46 to Rs 50 under the latest hike. The average travel time between the two stations is around 38 minutes. Just like other stations, passengers with a smart card can get a 10% rebate, which will bring down the cost to Rs 45. Metro services on this stretch begin with the first train around 5:45 AM and continue until the last departure at 11:39 PM from Huda City Centre.

8. Noida to AIIMS

If you live in Noida and work in the medical field or have offices near AIIMS, commuting just got a little pricier. As per the updated fare, the route will now cost Rs 50 for a single journey. This route, which involves a transfer from the Blue or Aqua Line to connect with the Yellow Line or Pink Line, takes close to 49 to 57 minutes, depending on the chosen route. On Sundays and national holidays, the fare will drop to Rs 40. If you use a smart card, you’ll save more, as the 10% rebate will bring the cost down to Rs 45.

9. Noida City Centre to IGI Airport

Planning to catch a flight from IGI Airport? If you’re starting your journey from Noida City Centre, a regular metro ride will now cost you Rs 60 for the trip that usually takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes. For those who prefer the faster Airport Express Line, fares have gone up by Rs 5. Smart card users can travel for Rs 63 thanks to the 10 per cent rebate. The Airport Express cuts travel time to just 41 minutes for the services that begin at around 5:40 AM and continue till about 11:30 PM.

10. Delhi Vishwavidyalaya to IGI Airport

If you’re travelling from Dilli Vishwavidyalaya to IGI Airport (Terminal 1), the updated fare is now Rs 50 for a single journey on the regular metro route. This stretch covers around 23 stations and takes close to 1 hour of travel time. Passengers using a smart card can save more and the fare comes down to about Rs 45 with the 10% rebate. For convenience, the first train leaves Vishwavidyalaya at 5:30 AM, while the last service towards the airport departs around 11:10 PM.

Here’s how you can easily calculate the Delhi Metro fare based on the distance you plan to travel

For normal weekdays, the revised fares are Rs 11 for 0–2 km, Rs 21 for 2–5 km, Rs 32 for 5–12 km, Rs 43 for 12–21 km, Rs 54 for 21–32 km and Rs 64 for trips beyond 32 km. On Sundays and national holidays, fares remain slightly lower but follow the same slabs. They are now Rs 11 for 0–2 km, Rs 11 for 2–5 km, Rs 21 for 5–12 km, Rs 32 for 12–21 km, Rs 43 for 21–32 km and Rs 54 for distances above 32 km.
