Barbacoa Ground Beef

All of the flavours of slow roasted barbacoa beef in a quick and easy ground beef form!

ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 chipotle chilies in adobo sauce, chopped (or to taste)
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup beef broth (or beer or water)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or lime juice)
  • salt to taste
directions
  1. Cook the beef and onion in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks, before draining off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chipotle chilies in adobo sauce, garlic, cumin, oregano, cloves, broth, vinegar, and salt, mix well, bring to a simmer and cook until most of the liquid has cooked off.

Option: Add a splash of soy sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free).
Option: Add a splash of worcestershire sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free).
